Tax on your fixed line phone
17th June 2009The government is proposing to charge every household 50p per month on their fixed line
phone to fund the digital revolution.
The proposals form part of the Digital Britain report which is intended to provide universal access to broadband by 2012 with minimum speed of 2Mbps and upgrade plans to 50Mbps by 2017. Further information and a copy of the report can be downloaded from the BBC by clicking here.
