Tax break for disabled company car drivers
11th May 2009HM Revenue and Customs has announced a change in the tax treatment of disabled company car drivers (holding a blue badge). Historically, they were taxed on the basis of the list price of the car plus any accessories. Many disabled drivers required automatic gear box which in most cases was considered an addition. They will now be taxed on the list price of an equivalent manual car when the benefit is calculated. Let your employer know if this affect you in order to get your tax code adjusted.
